Useless Bus Timing Service

Two systems (“Real time bus arrival information panel” and “Intelligent Route Information System”) was introduced by Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SBS Transit respectively.

It was meant to provide the arrival timing of bus at different bus stop location to commuters.
But it looks like the verdict is out, “IT IS NOT ACCURATE !” (Attachment #1).

Which meant commuters should not rely on its timing.
Which also translate to a “White Elephant” and waste of resources.
And it also mean that we (commuters) are still paying for it (directly or indirectly).
Just like the installation of the TV panel on the bus.

Instead of totally scraping it, someone wrote in to “My Paper” to suggest an alternative to convert it to display the bus number as the bus approach from far (Attachment #2) .
That way, commuters don’t have to strain their neck and eye while waiting.
Sounds like a more logical approach than the “Not accurate” bus timing system.
